Important E911 Disclosure for Login VoIP Customers

What is Enhanced 911?

Enhanced 911, also referred to as E911, is a system which automatically provides a caller’s location to 911 operators when they dial 911.

How Does E911 Affect My Team?

All Login-managed physical phones and phone systems are equipped for E911.

If someone from your team dials 911 from a Login-managed physical phone, the address of where the phone is registered with Login, will be automatically sent to the 911 operator.

What if Someone from My Team is Working from Home or Moves a Phone to Another Location?

As the technical point of contact for your company, you will need to provide the following to your team members who have Login-managed phones at their homes:

  • A Login-provided sticker should be placed on the Login-managed phone.
  • The phone end user or Technical contact may notify Login of the updated address if the registered phone is moved to a different address by sending an email to [email protected] indicating their Company affiliation, phone extension number and current service address where the phone is located.

How can I check my current Emergency Location?

At any time you may check what address Emergency Services has for your phone by dialing 933. If you find that your address is not accurate, please contact [email protected] indicating your Company affiliation, phone extension number and current service address where the phone is located.

Power Outages

In the event of a power outage, loss of voice service may occur, including E911 services.

Having a secondary phone such as a cell phone to dial 911 is always recommended. Once power service is restored, you may be required to reset your phone before E911 service is reinstated.

Internet Connection Issues

In the event of an internet connection disruption or outage, or if service has been suspended for any reason, including for non-payment, loss of voice service may occur, including E911 services.

Once internet connection is restored, you may be required to reset your phone before E911 service is reinstated.

Softphones

Softphones don’t support E911. End users may need to provide 911 dispatch with their address.

The software, whether for mobile or fixed devices, is not intended, designed or fit for placing, carrying or supporting emergency calls to any emergency service or any call for the purpose of obtaining assistance, help or aid in the event of an emergency. Our mobile software products may provide handling designed to redirect emergency calls to the native cellular dialer when possible on a reasonable commercial efforts basis, however this functionality is also dependent on the operation system of the mobile phone which is outside of our control and subject to change at any time.

Disclaimer of Liability for Emergency Call Response

You are responsible for and agree to notify any user or potential users of your VoIP services of the nature and limitations of E911 emergency calls via the Login VoIP service described here.

All members of your team that use a Login managed phone outside of your primary business premises are responsible for providing, maintaining and updating correct and current address information via email to [email protected] indicating their Company affiliation, phone extension number and current service address where the phone is located.

Any member that does not share the actual address location where their phone is located may cause E911 dispatchers to not immediately have the correct address for any requested emergency service response.

In accordance with 47 C.F.R. § 9.11, Login provides this E911 disclosure. This disclosure specifically advises every subscriber, both new and existing, prominently and in plain language, of the circumstances under which E911 service may not be available through the interconnected VoIP service or may be in some way limited by comparison to traditional E911 service. As this disclosure and your acknowledgement of the same are required by law, please review the disclosure, sign, and return to us at your earliest convenience.
